I grew up at Lauriston Estate in Gudalur, where coffee wasn't simply a crop — it was woven into everyday life. My parents were teachers, and our home overlooked a landscape shaped by coffee. The hills didn't just frame the view; they taught me how to pay attention.

Each morning, as I walked to school, I would pluck ripe coffee cherries from the bushes and chew their sweet fruit along the way. The fragrance of coffee blossoms drifting across the hills signaled a new season, filling the air with a scent I still remember today.

Those early memories taught me that coffee is more than a beverage. It is heritage, craftsmanship, and hospitality. It is the patience of a season, the care of a harvest, and the quiet generosity of sharing a cup with someone.
